Title 24 Compliant

Another round of important steps towards Zero Net Energy (ZNE) began January 1, 2020, featuring….

  • Photovoltaic solar systems are required for all new residential construction.
  • Health care facilities being included in the list of regulated building types.
  • Requiring that all new construction and building upgrades utilize LED lighting only.
  • Other requirements such as all restrooms being required to have occupancy sensor controls.

As Title 24 outlines, the California Energy Commission goal is for all new commercial construction to be ZNE by 2030. The mandate also includes that 50% of commercial buildings be retrofitted to ZNE by 2030 and 50% of renovations to state buildings be ZNE by 2025. These goals may have appeared lofty when first introduced in the 1970s. However, the facts show that becoming and remaining Title 24 compliant is cost-effective and good for all of us.

Building Owners and Managers are at the Forefront of Energy Efficiency

As a result of Title 24, California building designs and retrofits (commercial and residential) have been setting national and global standards for more than four decades. Experience counts! K2D’s culture is built on a foundation that supports construction and retrofit projects achieving the mutual benefits of cost savings and a green tomorrow that begins today. We understand that building owners and managers must minimize costs. Energy savings very effectively do this by reducing operating costs. That is how being Title 24 compliant will succeed for all of us.

At K2D, there is no status quo. We approach every project with a fresh perspective, enthusiasm, and the highest level of expertise with a deep commitment to providing solutions that accommodate each client’s unique needs. Our experts understand the costs associated with new energy designs and upgrades. The ultimate goal of K2D engineers is to create long-term savings for both new construction and modernization retrofits. The last thing you want to happen is leaving money on the table in the form of rebates, incentives, and savings.

The K2D commitment to Title 24 compliant energy-efficient and environmentally responsible systems is reflected in every project we work on and every service we provide.

California is a world leader in energy efficiency with decades of experience and progress. Hence, Title 24 compliance transforms today’s costs into tomorrow’s savings both for money and lower energy consumption. Energy retrofit projects are now less expensive, faster, and easier. With these changes, more are being completed. All of us are doing our part to help California lower its energy consumption to meet the net-zero energy initiative.
